Without the help and support of the companies and individuals listed below, our team would not exist. Thank you so much for your support!
In 2000, the FIRST Robotics Enterprise was able to start a FIRST team in Houghton through a generous grant from the Chrysler Foundation. Since then, Chrysler has supported Superior Roboworks and the FIRST Robotics Enterprise every year. In fact, our robot is named after François Castaing, the company's former Vice President!
In 2002, we changed our team name to Superior Roboworks and picked up a new sponsor - General Motors. We are one of 27 GM-sponsored FIRST teams in Michigan - way to go General Motors!
Michigan Technological University supports Superior Roboworks in a multitude of ways. First, they allow college mentors of the team to earn class and senior design credit by enrolling in the FIRST Robotics Enterprise. Michigan Tech also secures the majority of large donations for the team and handles our finances. MTU has sponsored the FIRST Robotics Enterprise since its inception in 2000. The following departments and organizations within Michigan Tech support Superior Roboworks:
Though anyone in the CCISD is welcome to join Superior Roboworks, all of our students hail from Houghton High School. Houghton High School has supported Superior Roboworks since 2002 by excusing students from classes for competitions, paying for our teacher's substitute while he's at competitions, and allowing us to have a display board in the hallway to inform everyone about our team.
ThermoAnalytics is another new sponsor of Superior Roboworks. They decided to sponsor us after our presentation at May's KEDA meeting. Thank you!
Without Pasty.net, we wouldn't have this website! Pasty.net has donated web space and technical support to Superior Roboworks since 2002.
Superior Graphics is the reason our team has such snazzy apparel! Without them, we wouldn't have our team t-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts, or swappables. They have supported Superior Roboworks since 2005.
One of our newest sponsors, UPPCO saw our presentation at May's KEDA meeting and decided to sponsor both us and the Snow Panthers, another local FIRST team.
